All attention has fallen on music icon Taylor Swift and football star Travis Kelce’s new relationship. We know all too well about Swift’s past relationships, but her new one with Kelce is definitely causing a buzz due to Swift’s reputation. Most Seabury students love the new relationship, but others are more unsure.
Senior Bella Ogborn says, “I think it’s a little weird, and I think it’s not going to end well.” There are a wide range of thoughts on this relationship, and some Swifties are even a little unsure.
Seventh grader Beck Abbott seems to agree with Ogborn, saying, “I like it, I support it, but I think it has gone too far.”
Freshman Lillian Meier is direct about her opinion: “I like their relationship. I just like Travis Kelce, and I like Taylor Swift. I liked them before [they started dating],” she says.
Some might not be as excited for this couple as everyone initially thought. Since becoming a couple, they excited thousands or even millions of both Swift and Kelce fans. Freshman Lucas Sherwood says, “I prefer Jason Kelce, but the relationship is nice.”
Another Seabury student is not quite so supportive. Sophomore Max Fagan says, “I could care less. I think it’s kind of dumb. She’s probably already got the break up songs written.” It seems some people at Seabury don’t care for this relationship, and it is not as popular as everyone thought.
Kelce and Swift met when Kelce allegedly attended a Kansas City performance of Swift’s famous “Eras Tour” on July 7 of this year. Although the dating rumors began in September, the popularity has grown since then. Although they seem happy, a rumor has been spread that Swift is using Kelce for publicity, but the opposing thought is that Kelce is using Swift for publicity. Neither Taylor Swift nor Travis Kelce have said much about the rumor. Either way, they both are being fearless in giving the relationship a try.
