The haunted house is a tradition that has been loved by Seabury students and teachers alike for years. The seniors labor tirelessly for the whole day to set up this fun event for the community, not to mention the hours that the planners and Mrs. Buckner put in the weeks leading up to it to make everything run smoothly.
Another tradition, which everyone loves, is the tradition of people being way too cool for the Haunted House. Everyone loves this! When you and your friends interrupt the actors to make a joke, it’s so funny! Everyone, including the actors, laughs so hard! This beloved act is so appreciated that the seniors actually encourage it upon entrance with an audio clip that encourages you to do whatever you want and joke the whole time! As a senior, I can tell you that every time a group went through that was especially “beloved” we all talked for minutes about how much we appreciated it! We thought it was so funny when you made rude comments, and didn’t go where you were supposed to! Your crush was SOO impressed! She could just tell that you weren’t scared. It made her fall so in love with you!
After one particularly “[great] *******” run of the haunted house, one senior said they loved how people “just have a little bit of pace and wander around slowly like a slug,” and that, “This [is] … the haunted slow house”
Another senior recounts their favorite moment of the haunted house: “I’m like George Washington crossing the Delaware, and I come out [with my chainsaw] and [REDACTED] is running the wrong way … What the [REDACTED] are you doing.” Then, they said, “These people go out of their way to act not scared. [REDACTED] ridiculous” … “It [makes it way better] for the people in the haunted house.”
