If you have recently spent any time on 23rd street, then you have probably noticed some new, prominent American flags and pop music that are unabashedly spreading their joy around town. Originally a Texas chain, 151 Coffee opened its doors on September 11th and is already making quite a splash.
Whether going through the drive through or sitting in their outdoor seating, you are guaranteed to receive a friendly interaction. I am always greeted not only with an enthused smile, but also a genuine want to be helpful, usually some kind of compliment and a manner of pure joy.
As for the drinks I cannot express how addictively delicious they are. After tasting just ONE of their specialty smoothies, I went back the next three subsequent days as I simply could not get enough. Their fruit is not only real, but the consistency of the smoothie is just the right mix between smooth and thick.
Regarding their coffee, I would recommend their Caramel Blondie or 151 Mocha. However, based on all the drinks I have tried, you really cannot go wrong with anything you order. Other enticing drinks that I plan to try soon include a frozen Cinnamon Dulce and an iced Irish Sin.
Their colorful menu also extends itself to refreshers, energy drinks and teas all with fun and flavorful names such as their “Ocean Water Refresher” with blue raspberry, lime and coconut.
However my favorite part of the menu is their “Dirty Pop” section, which includes normal sodas as well as signature mixes of the pops.
Overall, this funky paradise of drinks has more than reasonable prices, long hours and a zippy motto that will certainly be fulfilled if you stop by: “It’s a good day to have a good day.”
