Now in a new location on 8th Street downtown, Streamline Coffee & Crêpe is full of bright colors and funky, yet fun, decor, such as vibrant pink walls and chairs shaped like hands. Full of friendly staff and a cozy vibe inside, as well as an outside area looking out into the street, Streamline is a great place to experience downtown. This new location is an expansion upon their bright food truck on Bob Billings, which has coffee and other drinks.
In addition to a new space, they also added both sweet and savory crêpes to their downtown menu. For all of us who have attempted – and failed – to make a homemade crêpe recipe off of Pinterest, I can promise that these crêpes are better than any homemade confection. On the menu are breakfast and lunch crêpes, as well as a variety of drinks including tea, smoothies, coffee, hot chocolate, sodas, milkshakes and a large rotating seasonal selection of drinks and snacks.
During my first visit, I tried their hot chocolate and sugar crêpe and found it so addictively good that I proceeded to go back to get a lunch crêpe and their coffee. Options include breakfast burrito style crêpes and lunch options like Mediterranean style crêpes with grilled chicken and feta. The food is shockingly filling for a great price; some of the sweet crêpes lean towards the pricier side but are still reasonable.
In addition to catering to the people of Lawrence, Streamline also has a program with the Lawrence Humane Society, and the profits from several of the drinks on their menu go to the animals.
If you want to go to a restaurant with fun energy, positive workers, fun drinks and delicious food that you can’t find anywhere else in Lawrence, I would highly recommend trying Streamline Coffee & Crêpe!
