Last weekend, the debate team went to Topeka West High School and competed, with absolutely amazing results. All of the teams who went broke into the elimination rounds in their respective divisions. In the novice division, Freshman Jason Meschke and Sophomore Ryan Dekat made it to the quarterfinals, while Freshmen Henry Horan and Lear Eicher made it to the semifinals. Both teams made it far enough to metal. In the open division, Senior Josh Meschke and Junior Audrey Nguyen-Hoang made it to the quarterfinals. However, beating out the rest of the teams, Sophomores Brooke Spurlock and Darby Harris went to the final round, placing second. Overall, the team placed first in sweeps. Congratulations all!
