Among our many new students, sixth grader Alexandra Tsoflias likely had one of the busiest summers. Her family came to Lawrence from Houston, Texas “a week before [orientation] … [to] start moving into [their] new house.”
Luckily, this big change was worthwhile because she finds people at Seabury “much nicer than [at her] old school. [She] likes [the] welcoming environment.”
Regarding classes, Tsoflias is especially passionate about “Geography with Dr. Lady Asher … She [makes] it really fun. [Tsoflias likes] doing map quizzes … [and] acting out the UN.”
Tsoflias is an active athletic participant: “I [am] doing volleyball, [and I plan to do] cheer … and soccer.”
Concerning hobbies and interests, Tsoflias “plays piano [for the] Instrumental [class], and [is] taking lessons from the accompanist … from Choir.” She is also very interested in “designing clothes, [and is] thinking of getting more into that.”
Tsoflias has an “orange tabby [cat] … named Nyla,” who she comments is “very noisy.”
Her “favorite author is Sarah J. Maas,” and she also likes “Taylor Swift and pop music.”
She says that “[her] dad is from Greece, so [they] go there every summer to visit family and friends,” and she indicates that she is excited to explore Seabury’s culture while also contributing her own.
