Valentine’s is the most romantic time of the season. You could spend time with your loved one who gives you the honor of calling you their valentine, or, if you’re like me, sit at home downing a big bag of cheap store chocolates, watching a romance movie.
Romance is a wonderful genre full of laughs and crying, perfect for Valentine’s Day. There are many movies to choose from. If you want to cry, I would suggest “Titanic” or “The Fault in Our Stars.” If you want to laugh along, I would say “Anyone But You” or “Meet the Parents.” Overall, there are so many good ones to choose from, but if you asked me about my least favorite, I would say “Twilight.”
This movie features a girl named Bella, who moves to a town in Washington that is filled with mystery. The town starts to have mysterious murders and disappearances; these killings have been called “animal” attacks. Bella encounters a strange and mysterious student named Edward Cullen, who turns out to be a vampire. Even though he wants to kill and eat her, she doesn’t care and still loves him.
The idea that his past does not define him and that this relationship is good is honestly very disturbing. She basically wants to be with a serial killer that wants to kill her as well. Bella should be running away from him, not to him! This movie also has many production flaws. It was made with a low budget, making the graphics appear cheap. Many of the scenes have elements that don’t make sense, like how Bella is on a bench with some of her friends, and in the background, people seem to be playing soccer, but it isn’t a soccer ball at all; they are literally kicking air.
Overall, if you want to watch a romantic movie to watch, “Twilight” is definitely not my first choice, but if you want a very cringy movie to laugh at, then I strongly suggest “Twilight.”
