If any of you have not yet heard of the new sci-fi movie that broke into theaters in late March, you are missing out. When I first heard of this movie, I had been sitting around my house on a Saturday afternoon, staring at the wall in boredom. After contemplating the idea, I went to the theater in an attempt to brighten my dull day, and I changed my life by deciding to go see “Project Hail Mary.”
Starring actor Ryan Gosling, this movie follows a middle school science teacher who ends up on a mission through space to save our planet. This movie is amazing for many reasons, but particularly the way it carries the plot as both a source of emotion and humor.
In many ways, this movie is similar to the famous “Interstellar,” which also follows the story of an astronaut on a mission to save humanity, but while “Interstellar” follows a complicated and confusing plot involving potentially impossible aspects, “Project Hail Mary” follows a simpler but more humorous mission based on potential problems that seem more probable in the real world.
Now some of you might have already closed off your minds when I mentioned its sci-fi theme, and while this movie may sound like your typical, run of the mill sci-fi movie, “Project Hail Mary” follows its plot with such emotion, humor and depth that it has already become one of my personal favorites.
Hopefully I have by now conveyed my love for this movie, but if that is not enough, I would encourage you to look at reviews or ask anyone who has already seen this movie, because they will all convey the point I am trying to make: “Project Hail Mary” is one of the best modern sci-fi movies to be released, portrayed through its incredible features, amazing casting, humor and emotional depth.
