As we integrate ourselves into school after spring break, whispers circulate the halls. There have been a significant amount of rumors concerning this year’s form trips being cancelled, and recently, to many students’ dismay, they’ve been confirmed.
Head of School Don Schawang says, “Yeah, we should have announced it sooner; it’s true. There will be no form trips this year.” The reason for the change isn’t fully clear, but Schawang says, “It is a part of our mission to educate students. Two days is a lot of time. You can learn a lot of things in two days.”
Faculty member Michael Pulsinelli agrees: “There have been a lot of referrals handed out recently, and hopefully this will be enough incentive to keep students in line. We will also be doubling workload and adding three more weeks of school,” he says.
Not every faculty member agrees with the change though; when asked about her opinion on form trips being cancelled, faculty member Julie Pearce says, “Don’t…don’t talk like that.” When asked to elaborate further, she ran away, chanting, “It’s all about meeeee!!!!”
There has been a lot of chaos within the student body. Seventh grader Maya Wilhelm says, “It’s HORRIBLE!” Wilhelm plans to revolt against this recent news, saying, “Meet me in the Seabury basement if you are against this repugnant change!” Wilhelm plans to lead an uprising, with meetings every lunch in the Seabury basement to plan, calling her cult “Rios’ Army.”
Faculty member Brian Rios supports this movement, saying, “Me personally, I don’t want smelly, grimy students at the school for three extra weeks! I completely support these protests. Rios’s Army is ready for action.”
Rios’s Army plans to protest during Z-block tomorrow.
