Every school year, Seabury excitedly welcomes a new group of students into our community. This year, seventh grader Carter La Clair joined and has already participated in numerous Seabury activities and events. When asked if he has taken part in any extracurricular activities so far, La Clair says, “I played soccer.” La Clair played middle offense this year on Seabury’s middle school boys soccer team and had a lot of fun doing so. He especially enjoys the team aspect of soccer, saying, “I liked having a bunch of friends on the team.”
This year, La Clair joins his older brother, freshman Preston La Clair, at Seabury. La Clair thinks that having his brother at Seabury makes the adjustment from his previous school much easier for him, saying, “He helps me with my work sometimes.”
La Clair formerly attended Raintree Montessori school before transferring to Seabury this year. When asked about any differences he has noticed since coming to Seabury, La Clair notes that “it’s less peaceful.” La Clair also says that he feels like the workloads of Raintree and Seabury are relatively similar, and he “like[s] block schedule,” even though it was a big adjustment going straight from Raintree’s schedule.
La Clair recently attended the haunted house this past weekend and says that it was his favorite Seabury event that he has attended so far this year. La Clair remembers that his favorite part of the haunted house is “the jump scares and how everyone in my group was screaming, including Preston.”
When asked about some of the things he likes, La Clair shares that his favorite color is blue, his favorite sport is football and his favorite book is “Ace of Spades” by Faridah Àbíké-íyímídé. La Clair’s favorite class is P.E. because he is very interested and involved in sports.
La Clair is described by his brother as kind, smart and helpful. Overall, we are so excited to have him at Seabury!
