A new freshman this year, Liliana Eichman is an excellent addition to our Seabury community. While commenting on the difference between Seabury and her old school, West Middle School, Eichman says, “My previous school was very big, it was very noisy, but this school has been a huge step up. It’s much more inclusive; it’s extremely well organized, and they have great learning experiences.” She adds that “my biggest adjustment was probably the fact that we didn’t have the same classes every single day; my previous schedule, you just went to school, and the only thing that changed was gym class every other day, or FLEX class every other day, but you still had the same classes every day.”
Eichman has gotten involved in Seabury, and “does cross country, and [is] going to try for track next season.” As a musician, she “plays the French horn and the piano.” She is also involved in horse riding outside of school.
When asked about her favorite parts of Seabury so far, she says, “I’d have to say either doing my self portrait, or probably doing the floats for Homecoming or definitely the Halloween haunted house,” and her favorite classes are “English or art class, or maybe science class. The labs are fun, but … if I really had to choose, it would probably be art class, except for all the kids there who cannot focus. But aside from that, the teacher, Ms. Porter, she’s a great teacher.”
Her favorite book is “One for Sorrow, Two for Joy,” and when asked about her favorite movie, Eichman says, “I think a movie I could recommend to anyone is ‘Ocean’s 11.’ You should really see it. There’s also a sequel to the movie. The second movie is not as good as the first one, but they are both very good.” In addition, Eichman says, “I like Victorian paintings [and] the old paintings from a long time ago, [like] 1600s. The 1700s are very pretty. As for music, I have lots of genres I like. I do [like] Marina. She’s a good singer. And I also like the Arctic Monkeys.”
Eichman is an avid lover of animals. In addition to horse riding, she has four cats and two dogs at home. While talking about one of her cats, she said, “She’s really chubby, and it fits, though, because her name is S’mores, and she’s pale and a Calico. She’s really chubby. She’s 17 pounds. I tried putting her on a diet, but it didn’t work.”
Her enthusiasm, humor and kindness make her a great addition to our school, and we are so excited to have Eichman at Seabury!
